This blade is attributed to Hizen no Kami Shigetada (肥前守鎮忠),who was active during the early Edo period (Early 17th century).
He was initially from Takada village in Bungo province (today’s Oita prefecture) and belonged to Takada school. He moved to Hizen province (today’s Saga prefecture) with his older brother, Shigemasa (鎮政), in the middle of his career.
