Exceptional Japanse Tanto/Wakizashi Kanekage NBTHK Hozon Tokubetsu Muromachi period.

This is a very nice Tanto with a great Lion koshirae the details are rare and beautiful.
Kanekage was a swordsmith of Mino province in the Muromachi period around Tenbun era.
Mino swordsmith has been known as a sharp sword since that time the quality of the blade’s are good and strong.
The blade is perfect and has a clear and active hammon this work is a little slender and elegant.
The degree of the tip is exquisite Old polish but still in very good condition letting appreciate Hamon and Hada that shows the great  quality of the original forging and tempered.
Koshirae Extremely rare and unrestored it has a certain atmosphere.
The fuchigashira, small frame, and kougai are made of brass Matsushiro metal fittings, and the menuki is made of copper-like the very nice botan lion. Small size and kogai would be unique.
The scabbard itself  and has a Shibuichi-style hook and metal inlay, and a brass base.
Seldom do you see this kind of Koshirae it has some demon style with nice red collor.
Al things come together here i recommend this one it will be a true treasure for your collection.
